Program 6: Home, Car & Pet Care
Essential everyday skills to take care of where you live, how you travel, and who you love.

Program 6 builds practical life skills that help participants feel confident in caring for their home, looking after their vehicle, and nurturing their pets. Through hands-on learning and real-world examples, participants develop responsibility, independence, and pride in their environment.

This program is ideal for those building independence in Supported Independent Living (SIL), preparing for shared living, or wanting to take more responsibility for their personal space and daily routines.

  • Daily and weekly cleaning routines for home hygiene
  • Garden and yard maintenance basics
  • Simple home repairs and how to ask for help
  • Essential car care: checking tyres, fluids, cleaning, and safety kits
  • What to do if the car breaks down or a light comes on
  • How to choose, care for, and keep pets safe and healthy
  • Feeding, grooming, and building routines for pet care
